International telephone
In Japan, you can't use all puplic phones to make international calls, it has to be one marked as such - like this english looking phone box close to Kitakami station. Note the Onikenbai-devil masks, the emblem of Kitakami.

Hmmm, kinda makes you wonder 'Oni' = International....
Yes, indeed, looks like somebody wants to say "stay away from this phone, it's dangerous to phone to countries outside Japan!"
But in fact, this onikenbai is very popular in Kitakami, they put it just everywhere.
